Governor Sanwo-Olu made history today, as he was the first person to hop on board the Lagos Blue Line rail on its inaugural day of operations.

The governor was accompanied by a host of bigwigs, including his wife, the deputy governor, and some former state officials.

Before the ride, Sanwo-Olu gave a rundown of the rules and requirements for riding the train.

The LAMATA has announced that in the first month of operation, there will be only 12 trips using the locomotive system.

According to Abimbola Akinajo, the agency's Managing Director, they plan to ramp up to 76 trips once the electric-powered train is fully operational.
