18 killed as suspected herdsmen don attack Benue community:

 

Locals don tell Daily Trust say the incident happened about 7pm on Sunday, May 21, 2023. 

The attack dey coincide with Iye Market day when people dey busy with trading activities.

The residents also don talk say many people don wound during the attack on the village wey dey located behind the Joseph Sarwuaan Tarka University Makurdi (JOSTUM).

 

Christopher Waku, the Security Adviser of Guma LGA, wey confirm the incident on Monday, talk say 18 people don dey killed during the attack.

 

"18 people were killed at Iye village in Guma LGA yesterday (Sunday) between 6-7pm. The village is after Uniagric (JOSTUM).

 

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Catherine Anene, wey confirm the attack, talk say one of the attackers also don dey killed. 

 

Meanwhile, 17 bodies don dey recovered so far.
