May Edochie's lawyer, Emeka Ugwuonye, has accused her husband, actor Yul Edochie, of failing to provide for their children. In a recent video, Ugwuonye claimed that Yul repeatedly instructs their children to seek financial support from their mother, asserting that she earns more than he does.

Ugwuonye made these statements while addressing Nigerians who compare the marriage of Yul and May to that of Ned Nwoko and Regina Daniels. He explained that Nwoko married his wives under Customary law, which allows multiple marriages, unlike Sharia law that restricts a Muslim man to four wives. Nwoko, wanting more wives, chose the law that permits an unlimited number.

Additionally, Ugwuonye accused Judy of orchestrating a “campaign of calumny and smear” against May, intending to tarnish her reputation.

He said, “There’s something else you people need to understand. Ned takes care of all his children, paying their school fees and providing for them. Yul, on the other hand, is not supporting his children at all. Yul even told his daughter that their mother earns more than he does. How can you enter polygamy and not support your children? So, please don’t compare the two situations.”
