Man Shares How He Destroyed His Marriage After Getting Married to His Side Chick

His confession sheds light on the complexities and emotional turmoil that can arise from infidelity and unmet expectations in a relationship.

He wrote:

"I think I have ruined my marriage. I got married 2.5 years ago to a lady who was my then side chick. I’m into the transport business; I pick clients from the airport and also have drivers working for me as well. That’s where I met my wife. I picked her up from one of her trips abroad. She was 29 and I was 28.

She was too old for me. I wanted a younger lady. My main girlfriend was 23 and doing her NYSC in Osun State while I was in Lagos. My wife is a pleasant lady, smart and confident. We became close, and she gave me a lot of tips on how to improve my business. I knew she was in love with me, but I preferred my younger girlfriend.

After NYSC, she refused to return to Lagos. She lied she got a job. Eventually, I found out she got engaged at the end of the NYSC to her fellow corper. I literally begged her, but she pleaded with me that she was in love with the guy. I was lonely, and I got together with my side chick. That was how I married my wife.

She has been good to me. Very peaceful and humble. But I always felt she wasn’t enough for me. We had a quarrel one day, and I told her she was old, not my choice, and no man would buy an evening newspaper. I felt ashamed after uttering that statement. I have apologized to her, but she has not responded.

It's been real quiet in my house. No communication at all. I have a feeling she's planning to divorce me. She has told me she's returning back to work in July. I really don't know what to do because we agreed that no third party in the marriage. Please advise me."
