Dr. Olufemi Olaleye, the Medical Director of Optical Cancer Care Foundation, has been sentenced to life imprisonment by Justice Rahman Oshodi of the Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court for defiling a 16-year-old girl, who was the niece of his wife.

Justice Oshodi found Olaleye guilty of the two-count charges of defilement and sexual assault by penetration, based on the compelling evidence provided by the prosecution.

Olaleye's own confessional statement, in which he expressed regret for his actions and admitted to committing the offenses, was also used to convict him.In his ruling, the judge emphasized that the defendant's denial of his oral statement, which included the seal of his lawyer, Mr. Olalekan Buruji, did not hold water.

The judge stated that the defendant was a dangerous criminal and that he should be ashamed of himself.

A medical doctor, Oyebimpe Akinbunmi, testified before the Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court that Dr. Olaleye had sexually assaulted his wife's 16-year-old niece.
