The greatest of all time and World Cup champion Lionel Messi has surpassed his long time rival again Cristiano Ronaldo as Guinness World Record unveiled him to be the only footballer to win the most GWR title. 

Guinness World Record revealed this on their social media platform naming Lionel Andres Messi and the only play with 41 titles while Cristiano Ronaldo took the second position with 40 titles won. 

Although there are other couple of players that are also on the list, which are Robert Lewandowski with 9 titles, Kylian Mbappe with 8 titles and Neymar Jr. with 4 titles.

Lionel Messi now stand a better chance to win his 8th ballon d’or, which will also make him the first player in history of football to win the ballon d’or in three different clubs and also the first player in history to with the title 8 times.
