Thailand is reeling from the devastating impact of monsoon rains, which have triggered flash floods and mudslides across the country, claiming the lives of 22 people and injuring 19 others.

The authorities have warned of further risks in some provinces, with over 30,000 households affected by the disaster.

"The situation is severe, and we're working closely with local authorities to evacuate those in danger and provide aid to affected areas," said a government spokesperson. "We urge residents to exercise extreme caution and follow evacuation orders to minimize the risk of injury or loss of life."

The monsoon rains have caused widespread destruction, with flash floods sweeping away homes, businesses, and infrastructure.

Mudslides have also blocked roads, making it difficult for rescue teams to reach affected areas.

"We're doing everything we can to support those affected, but we need the public's cooperation to ensure their safety," the spokesperson added.

The authorities have identified several provinces as high-risk areas, including Chiang Mai, Mae Hong Son, and Chiang Rai.

Residents in these areas have been advised to remain vigilant and prepare for further flooding.

The government has deployed emergency services, including military personnel, to assist with evacuations and relief efforts. Aid packages, including food, water, and shelter, are being distributed to affected households.
