Naira Marley, a popular Nigerian singer, has refuted claims that he signed DJ Splash to his record label, Marlian Music.

Shegzeblog reports that Naira Marley has been facing backlash and allegations from Nigerians following the death of his former signee, Mohbad.

Amid the backlash, some fans expressed concern about DJ Splash, a purported associate of Marlian Music, who allegedly developed mental health problems after taking substances given to him by Marlian team members.

Naira Marley has refuted allegations made by DJ Splash's mother in a viral audio, which claimed that Marley had invited her son to live with him and offered to cover his educational expenses. She further alleged that Marley had failed to live up to his promises and that since leaving Marley's house, her son had developed mental health issues.

However, in an interview with Reno Omokiri, Marley vehemently denied the claims that DJ Splash was his official DJ or signed to his music label, and emphasized that he had no responsibility for DJ Splash's mental health.

He said, “DJ Splash was never signed to Marlian Music; I know him as a DJ, but he has never deejayed with me at shows or anything, it is not like he is my DJ. They just gave him the title because I have a picture with him,” he said.

“When whatever happened to him, he was not at my house, and I do not understand where all this is coming from.

“DJ Splash, DJ whatever, I do not understand where it is coming from, that is all lies, they are just bringing out people from nowhere to tell lies.”
