The National Industrial Court in Owerri has issued a fresh interim injunction restraining the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) from embarking on any kind of strike in Imo State, until further notice.

The court's order came after it heard submissions from both parties that they were yet to reach a settlement on their dispute.

The court warned against any disobedience of the order, saying that it could lead to serious consequences.The court has reserved November 30 for a ruling on the motion for interlocutory injunction filed by the claimants.

The court noted that it is important to prevent any escalation of the dispute between the parties, and that it would consider all the evidence presented by both sides before rendering a final decision. The court also noted that it is committed to ensuring that labour disputes are resolved in a fair and timely manner.

The court has further emphasized that it is committed to ensuring that the interests of the citizens and third parties not involved in the labour dispute are not affected by the current situation.

The court has directed both parties to act in accordance with the court's existing orders and to be mindful of the potential consequences of any further actions that may be taken.

The court has adjourned the matter to November 30 for a ruling on the interlocutory injunction filed by the claimants.
