NDLEA Arrests Four Suspects, Seizes Explosive Materials and Drugs in Multiple Operations

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has made significant arrests and seizures in various operations across the country. Four suspects were arrested in connection with the interception of 2,025 pieces of improvised explosive devices (IED) materials in Niger State.

According to NDLEA spokesman Femi Babafemi, the IED materials were found in a Toyota Hummer bus along Agaie-Lapai road, and two suspects, Abdulrauf Adeyemi and Asmiyu Rahim, were arrested on the spot. Follow-up operations led to the arrest of two additional suspects, Husaini Abdullahi and Nazifi Abdullahi, in Sokoto and Kano States, respectively.

The NDLEA Chairman, retired Brig.-Gen. Buba Marwa, has directed that the suspects and explosive materials be transferred to the appropriate security agency for further investigation.

In separate operations, NDLEA officers arrested Muhammad Lawal with 1,000 Ampoules of Pentazocine injection in Katsina State, and Gloria Oris with 105kg of cannabis in Edo State. Additionally, two suspects were arrested with 83kg of cannabis and Tramadol in Kwara State, and a consignment of 91.1kg opioids and 13kg cannabis was recovered in Yobe State.

The NDLEA continues to wage a war against drug abuse, with various commands across the country conducting advocacy campaigns and sensitization lectures in schools and communities."
