A Nigerian Air Force (NAF) officer, ACM Shuaibu Umar Bashir, has been reportedly kidnapped by suspected terrorists in Niger State.

According to SaharaReporters, ACM Bashir was abducted along Birnin Gwari Road on Sunday, August 20, while en route to his station to resume duty.

Family sources claim that the terrorists demanded N10 million ransom within three days from the officer's family.

The NAF and military authorities have reportedly refused to communicate with the family regarding the kidnapping.

This is a troubling development for the NAF, which has been actively involved in the fight against insurgency in Nigeria.
