Nigerian Army troops engaged in Counter Terrorism Counter Insurgency operations have conducted a raid on the hideout of a notorious terrorist leader known as Yellow Janbros in Dangunu Village, Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

In a statement released on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, the Army reported that the raid resulted in the elimination of a terrorist and the recovery of a firearm.

"During the operation on 8 April 2024, troops successfully attacked the hideout of the notorious terrorists responsible for kidnappings and other terrorist activities in parts of North West Nigeria," the statement read.

"The troops overwhelmed and expelled the terrorists, neutralizing one of them. Additionally, the courageous troops recovered one AK-47 Rifle, One AK-47 Magazine, 30 rounds of 7.62 mm Special ammunition, and one hundred and fifty bags of stolen grains. The terrorists' hideout has been completely destroyed.

"The Nigerian Army remains steadfast in addressing security challenges and is fully committed to eliminating terrorists and insurgents from the nation."
