A 20-year-old man named Ojo Monday has been brought before the Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ekiti State on charges of housebreaking and theft.

The police prosecutor, Inspector Moyosola Adesola, stated that the suspect allegedly stole items including noodles, Maggi seasonings, salt, onions, "fufu," and a pot of soup, all valued at N300,000, belonging to the complainant. The incident reportedly occurred on Thursday, March 14, 2024, around 12 noon at Falegan, Ilawe Road in Ado-Ekiti, according to Daily Trust. The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Inspector Adesola mentioned that the offences violated Sections 322 and 302(1) (a) of the Criminal Laws of Ekiti State 2021. Olayinka Opaleke, the defendant's counsel, requested bail for his client. Chief Magistrate Mrs Taiwo Ajibade granted bail to the defendant in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case till April 23 for a hearing.
