NMDPRA Cracks Down on Fuel Stations: 'No More Petrol Sales in Jerrycans'

NMDPRA Cracks Down on Fuel Stations: 'No More Petrol Sales in Jerrycans'

"We will withdraw your licence if you continue selling petrol in jerrycans," an NMDPRA official warned in a video footage. "You have to take this seriously. No selling in jerrycans."

The directive comes as the country grapples with long queues at gas stations, with many struggling to access fuel. The NMDPRA's move aims to prevent illegal sales and ensure compliance with safety standards.

"We are conducting field assessments to monitor compliance," the official added. "Gas stations found selling petrol in jerrycans will face severe penalties, including licence withdrawal."

The NMDPRA's stance is clear: safety and compliance are non-negotiable.
