The scholarships, covering primary, secondary, vocational, and tertiary education, are intended to provide access to quality education for children from low-income families.

Governor Abiodun said the scheme was named after his son, Gbemiga Abiodun, also known as DJ Olu, who tragically passed away six years ago.

Governor Abiodun stated that the scholarship scheme is a reflection of his administration's commitment to education and the development of youth in the state.

He also thanked stakeholders, including community and religious leaders, for their support in sustaining the education sector, and he encouraged parents to ensure their children took advantage of the scholarship opportunity.

Speaking on behalf of recipients, Miss Kemisola Olutayo, a JAMB Scholarship beneficiary, thanked Governor Abiodun and his wife, Bamidele, for the opportunity.
