Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Pere Egbi, has addressed the recent controversy surrounding his social media post, which some fans interpreted as a subtle jab at his ex-girlfriend, Mercy Eke.

Pere took to X (formerly Twitter) to clarify that his post was not directed at Mercy or any other BBNaija housemate.

"I know how fans of the show like to refer every post made by housemates - past or present - as an indirect shade to one another," Pere explained. "But let me be clear, my previous post was not about anyone from the BBNaija house."

Pere's initial post had sparked a heated debate among fans, with many accusing him of throwing shade at Mercy Eke's decision to undergo BBL surgery. However, Pere maintains that his post was simply an appreciation for natural beauty.

"Some women you see and you have no option but to appreciate the creativity of God Almighty," Pere wrote. "Such women are the ones with natural beauty, not those with 'surgically manufactured' beauty."

By setting the record straight, Pere aims to put an end to the speculation and rumors surrounding his post. 

His clarification serves as a reminder that not every social media post is a subtle dig at someone, and that fans should be cautious not to jump to conclusions.

"I'm not here to shade anyone," Pere emphasized. "Let's focus on spreading positivity and uplifting one another."
