The arrests of the suspects took place on March 17 after a distress call was received by the Mabushi Division at approximately 02:30 pm. The call was made by victims Blessing Mafulul Damia and Haliru Zakari, who reported being trailed by unidentified men in an unregistered Toyota Hilux. These men robbed them of their possessions and attempted to abduct them as they were traveling from a medical store in Gwarimpa to Gishiri village.

In response to the information, police officers from the division promptly acted, tracked down the vehicle, and apprehended the two suspects, Elihu and Iorjaa. Among the items recovered from them were a black Toyota Hilux with license plate NBB 03 AH (registered in Nasarawa), a jackknife, and various military gear. The suspects are expected to appear in court soon to face charges.
