The incident, which happened the day after a security guard was shot by suspects outside the same residence, is not believed to be connected to the earlier shooting.

Drake has been involved in a rap battle with Kendrick Lamar, but there's no indication that this incident is related to their feud.

It's unclear if Drake was at home during either event.

According to a statement, police responded to the alleged break-in attempt at 14:00 EDT (18:00 GMT) on Wednesday after being alerted that "a person attempted to gain access to the property." The individual was apprehended under Ontario's Mental Health Act and received medical assistance.

The Mental Health Act allows police to take individuals they believe are suffering from a mental health disorder into custody for medical treatment, instead of making an arrest. No criminal charges have been filed at this time.

On Tuesday, a security guard was shot outside Drake's home in the Bridle Path neighborhood of Toronto. The victim is in serious condition in the hospital.

Drake's ongoing feud with Kendrick Lamar has resulted in a series of diss tracks
