The Lagos State Police Command is investigating the death of Gihan Mbelu, a 42-year-old man and the chairman of Victoria Garden City in Lekki.

Mbelu was found unconscious in his C300 4Matic car around 10:10 am on Friday, April 26, 2024, near VGC. He was taken to Lagos University Teaching Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Witnesses noticed his car running for hours and upon closer inspection, found Mbelu inside.

Despite attempts to wake him, he did not respond. His body was then taken to the hospital's morgue, and the police were notified for further investigation. Mbelu, survived by his wife Eloho and two daughters, was a financial adviser and venture capitalist. Benjamin Hundeyin, the state police command spokesperson, confirmed the incident and stated that an investigation is underway.
