Reports emerged on social media that a man was allegedly chased into a river by police officers in Ubeji/Egbokodo Itsekiri Community, Warri South, Delta state.

The man reportedly drowned in the river and his body has not been recovered.

In response to the social media reports, the Delta State Police Command spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, stated that the police have not received any information regarding the deceased man.

He called on the man's family to come forward and report the incident to the police in order to assist in their investigation.

The statement reads
