President Bola Tinubu is set to embark on a diplomatic journey to Paris, France, on Monday, August 19, marking his first official trip abroad since assuming office.

The President's spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, confirmed the trip in a statement, noting that President Tinubu will return to Nigeria after a brief work stay in France.

The President's trip is significant, not only for its diplomatic implications but also for the mode of transportation. 

President Tinubu will travel on the newly acquired luxury Airbus A330 aircraft, which arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Sunday night.

"We are excited to have this new addition to our Presidential Air Fleet," said Olayinka Olusola, Air Vice Marshal and Commander of the Presidential Air Fleet. "This aircraft will enhance our ability to facilitate the President's diplomatic efforts and promote Nigeria's interests abroad."

The Airbus A330 aircraft has an interesting history, having been repossessed from an indebted oil sheikh who used it as collateral for a loan. L & L International LLC, an American aviation firm, brokered the deal, which saw Nigeria purchase the aircraft for over $100 million.

"This acquisition demonstrates our commitment to investing in infrastructure that supports our diplomatic efforts," said Ajuri Ngelale. "We look forward to utilizing this aircraft to promote Nigeria's interests and strengthen our relationships with other nations."

As President Tinubu departs for Paris, Nigerians can expect a renewed focus on diplomatic efforts, with the newly acquired Airbus A330 aircraft serving as a symbol of the country's commitment to international relations.
