In a royal and ceremonious process that spanned several months, Prince Afolabi Ghandi Laoye was named the new Soun of Ogbomosoland in Oyo State.

The new monarch's installation ceremony took place on Friday, following the death of the previous Soun, Oba Jimoh Oyewunmi Ajagungbade III.

The commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs, Olusegun Olayiwola, announced Laoye's selection after a rigorous process that followed all the legal procedures.
