Rapper Tory Lanez has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for the 2020 shooting of fellow rapper Megan Thee Stallion.

Lanez was convicted of felony assault and possession of a firearm in April of this year and was sentenced on August 8th. In court, Lanez denied the charges against him and maintained his innocence.

He also apologized to Megan and her family, stating that he had "never intended for this incident to happen."

Prior to the sentencing, Megan Thee Stallion had spoken out about the shooting and the trial, calling it a "very draining" experience.

In a statement released on social media, Megan expressed her relief that the trial had reached a conclusion, stating that she was "glad the judge and jury have rendered a verdict."

Megan also thanked her fans and supporters for their encouragement and prayers throughout the trial.
