Resident doctors protest has been suspended:

The Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has suspended its planned daily nationwide protest following a meeting with Senate leadership.

Resident doctors protest has been suspended:

The NARD president, Dr. Emeka Orji, announced this in a chat with our correspondent.

He stated that the planned protest, initially scheduled for Wednesday, will be reviewed in 72 hours.

The NARD had previously threatened to embark on a daily nationwide protest to demand that the federal government address the welfare issues facing resident doctors.

The strike by the Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors has continued as they threaten to begin a daily peaceful protest starting Wednesday if their demands are not met. This decision was made in response to the government's "no work, no pay" policy.

The strike began on July 26th, following the government's failure to meet their demands for better working conditions.

The government has reportedly threatened to implement "no work, no pay" policy, but the doctors are resolved to continue the strike and protest until their demands are met.

The Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors has stated several demands in relation to their ongoing strike, including the implementation of the one-for-one replacement policy for healthcare workers, the discontinuation of downgrading medical certificates issued by the West African Postgraduate Medical and Surgical Colleges, the immediate payment of salary arrears, the implementation of the Consolidated Medical Salary Structure, a new hazard allowance, and the domestication of the Medical Residency Training Act.

If these demands are not met, the doctors have threatened to begin daily peaceful protests.
