Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan, who also represents Yahaya Bello in the Senate, praised the EFCC's actions regarding the situation involving the former governor. However, she did not directly comment on the specific accusation of mobilizing journalists against him.

Regarding Bello's explanation for not attending the EFCC's invitation, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan emphasized the importance of the EFCC investigating corrupt public officials to avoid any perception of bias or witch hunt.

In response to the EFCC chairman's claim that Bello had cited a female senator for mobilizing journalists against him, Senator Natasha stated that she was surprised by Bello's evasion of the EFCC's invitation, considering his past role as Kogi's chief security officer. She urged Bello to respect Nigeria's laws and constitution, emphasizing that no one is above the law. She also commended the EFCC for its diligence in handling the case, stating that the agency must pursue the case to its conclusion to gain the trust of Nigerians and the international community in the fight against corruption.
