South Africa has broken the 23 years jinx after defeating Cape Verde to book a spot in the semifinals of the ongoing Africa cup of nations.

The bafana bafana boys stood their ground to hold the Cape Verde players 0-0 to a penalty shootout, were they narrowly escaped to semi final a height they’ve never attained since year 2000.

South Africa will now be meeting the almighty Super Eagles who seems to always be their biggest rival in the Africa cup of nations AFCON.

Remember, Shegzeblog reported that Nigeria who opened the quarter final  saga breeze to the semi final stage after defeating The antelopes of Angola on Friday evening.

Nigeria will now need to sit upright in order to face the Bafana Bafana of South Africa as the team is filled with experienced and technical players.

Recall the last time South Africa secured a place in the semifinals of the Africa cup of nations was in year 2000 against the Super Eagles of Nigeria, lost 2-0 to the Eagles.
