The Federal High Court in Lagos has granted permission for the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. Olakunle Oluomo, to travel abroad for medical treatment.

Justice Nicholas Oweibo approved the travel following a motion ex parte filed on July 26, 2023, seeking permission for the speaker and two others to seek medical treatment while the court is in recess.

The motion was granted in the interest of the applicant's health and well-being.

In the motion, the speaker's lawyer stated that Oluomo needed to travel abroad for medical care in order to address ongoing health issues.

The lawyer noted that the matter was urgent, and that the court's vacation could interfere with the applicant's ability to receive the necessary treatment.

The judge agreed with the lawyer's reasoning and granted the motion.
