An undergraduate at the University of Calabar has been sentenced to three years in prison for committing internet fraud. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission arrested and charged the student with three counts of fraud. He was found guilty and sentenced to prison.
The undergraduate was found guilty of charges of impersonation, obtaining money by false pretence, and possession of fraudulent documents. He was sentenced to a year in prison with the option of a fine, and his phones were ordered to be forfeited to the government.
