Supreme Court Adjourns Appeals Against Tinubu's Election Victory:

The Supreme Court of Nigeria has adjourned the appeals challenging the victory of President Bola Tinubu in the February 25, 2023 general election.

Supreme Court Adjourns Appeals Against Tinubu's Election Victory:

The appellants, including Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP), had earlier filed a petition at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, which struck out their appeals.

Now, they have taken their case to the Supreme Court, which heard the matter on Monday, October 23. The apex court has adjourned the matter for further proceedings.

During the proceedings, however, Chukwuma Umeh, who is representing the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), applied to withdraw his appeal after the Supreme Court denied the party's request to void the results of the presidential election. The other appellants, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party (LP), however, continued with their appeals.

The panel of seven justices, led by Justice John Okoro, adjourned the matter to allow the parties to conclude their arguments and for the court to give its judgment.
