The family of the detained Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has penned an open letter to South East Governors, urging them to take immediate action to secure his release. This plea comes just a month after the family accused Igbo political elites of abandoning Kanu to his fate.

Prince Emmanuel Kanu, representing the family, expressed concern about his brother's deteriorating health, emphasizing that Kanu should not be left to perish in custody. He criticized the Governors for their silence, warning that history would judge them harshly if they failed to secure Kanu's release.

Emmanuel argued that Kanu's arrest and detention were politically motivated to silence his activism as a freedom fighter, stressing that his brother did nothing wrong by advocating for justice for the Igbo tribe and other Biafrans.
