The remains of the military personnel who lost their lives in Delta State on March 14, 2024, have arrived at the National Military Cemetery in Abuja, according to a report by shegzeblog.

The bodies, which arrived around 2:26 pm on Wednesday, were transported by Military Ambulance Emergency vehicles and accompanied by the FCT Ambulance Emergency services. Our correspondent notes that senior military officials from various formations nationwide are currently present to pay their final respects to the fallen heroes.

Distraught relatives, as well as the wives of other military officers, are also present. The burial ceremony is expected to be attended by President Bola Tinubu.

Shegzeblog previously reported on how troops from the 181 Amphibious Battalion in Bomadi Local Government Area of Delta State, while on a peace mission to Okuoma Community, were surrounded and killed by irate youths from the community.

The incident took place when the troops responded to a distress call following a communal crisis between the Okuoma and Okoloba communities in Delta.
