An unverified report circulating online claims that Damilola Dickson, Ugwu Chukwuemeka, and Ojang Precious Ebejin, who are all students at the University of Calabar (UNICAL), have been kidnapped. This information was disseminated through a statement on X (formerly Twitter) by a media user.

In a social media update, the user announced: “Damilola Dickson, a final year student in the Department of Genetics and Biotechnology, has reportedly been abducted at UNICAL. She is an only child and is just five months away from graduating.”

“Ugwu Chukwuemeka, a 300-level student of Genetics and Biotechnology, and Ojang Precious Ebejin, a 200-level student of Medicine and Surgery, are also reportedly kidnapped.”

The user sought permission from prominent individuals to share any information that might help ensure the safety of the students allegedly kidnapped.

The user also appealed: “With tears in our eyes, we implore the University of Calabar security team, the Commissioner of Police, and the State Government of Cross River State.”
