Tinubu to Unveil Wage Award to Ease Impact of Petrol Subsidy Removal:

President Bola Tinubu will reportedly unveil wage awards next week in order to help cushion the impact of petrol subsidy removal on workers.

Tinubu to Unveil Wage Award to Ease Impact of Petrol Subsidy Removal:

This was revealed by Festus Osifo, the President of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), in an interview on ChannelsTelevision's "Politics Today" program.

According to Osifo, the TUC had given the federal government a two-week ultimatum to address its demands, including wage awards, or risk industrial action from workers.

According to Festus Osifo, the Minister of Labour and Employment, Simon Lalong, informed the TUC that he had met with President Bola Tinubu and the Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, regarding the matter.

Lalong reportedly told the union that the issue of wages had been discussed, and that President Tinubu would make an announcement on the matter in the coming days.

It is hoped that the wage award will help mitigate the effects of the petrol subsidy removal on workers.
