Tinubu Urges Youths to Call Off Planned Protest, Promises to Address Grievances

According to Mohammed Idris, Minister of Information and National Orientation, Tinubu is working diligently to address the concerns of young people.

Speaking to State House correspondents on Tuesday, July 23, after a meeting with the President, Idris revealed that Tinubu is committed to listening to the voices of Nigerian youths. "Mr. President has asked me to inform Nigerians, especially the young people who are planning to protest, that he listens to them and takes their concerns seriously," Idris said.

The Minister emphasized that Tinubu is dedicated to ensuring a better future for the country. "He is working hard to make Nigeria a good place not just for today but also for the future," Idris added.

Regarding the planned protest, Idris quoted Tinubu as saying, "I don't see any need for that. I ask them to shelve that plan and await the government's response to all their pleas. I have listened to them, and I take what they say seriously."

Tinubu's appeal comes as a response to the growing discontent among Nigerian youths, who have been vocal about their grievances. By urging them to call off the protest, Tinubu aims to reassure them that their voices are being heard and that his administration is committed to addressing their concerns.

With this latest development, it remains to be seen whether the youths will heed Tinubu's appeal or proceed with their planned protest. One thing is certain, however – the President's willingness to listen and engage with young people is a step in the right direction towards building a more inclusive and responsive government.
