A tragic motorcycle accident has claimed the life of Ezekiel Maharaj of Chatham, Cedros.

The incident occurred on the Tarouba Link Road near South Park, where eyewitnesses report that Maharaj was attempting to overtake a fuel truck when the motorcycle came into contact with the left side of the truck, sending Maharaj flying onto the road.

The impact dislodged the bike's fuel tank, igniting a fire, which the truck driver stopped to extinguish.
