A serious car accident on the Uriah Butler Highway in Chaguanas on Friday morning resulted in the death of a 38-year-old man, Rishard Hosein.

The accident occurred around 2:45 am when Mr. Hosein's car crashed into a dump truck.

According to the police report, Mr. Hosein was driving southbound when the truck driver, who had received a "bad drive" from another vehicle, lost control of the truck and swerved to avoid a crash, hitting a concrete culvert. Mr. Hosein's car then crashed into the truck.

According to reports, the man, who was driving a Mitsubishi Lancer, was traveling behind a dump truck when the truck driver lost control of the vehicle, swerving and striking a concrete culvert.

In an effort to avoid colliding with the truck, the man swerved his vehicle, but ended up hitting the truck instead. His vehicle then collided with an electricity pole, killing him.

The Central Division police and fire officers responded to the scene and conducted an investigation. The circumstances of the accident are still under investigation.
