Argentine forward and Lionel Messi backup Angel Di Maria has confirmed that the next Copa America which will take place in 2024 will be his last as an Argentina player. 

According to Di Maria, he said “With all the pain in my soul and feeling a lump in my throat, I say goodbye to the most beautiful thing that happened to me in my career.”

Di Maria has been the main pillar of Argentina piloting the team along side with the Magician of football Greatest Lionel Messi. 

Remember Angel scored the only goal that gave Argentina their first Copa America trophy in 2021, he also played a key role in the 2022 World Cup scoring in the final. 

In 2014 when he was injured, he could not feature in the finals as Argentina lost to Germany with an only goal scored by Mario Gotze.
