The Yobe State Police Command has issued a warning about possible Boko Haram infiltration into the planned #EndBadGovernance protest scheduled for August.

According to DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, the command's spokesperson, intelligence reports suggest that foreign mercenaries have been hired to disrupt the protest, posing a significant threat to lives and property.

The warning highlights heightened security concerns due to recent insurgent activities, including an IED explosion in Gujba Local Government Area.

The police are urging would-be protesters to exercise caution, acknowledging citizens' constitutional rights to peaceful assembly while stressing that the timing of the protest may be problematic given the current security climate.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Garba Ahmed, supports the call for caution and encourages organizers to provide detailed information about the protest to ensure adequate security measures are in place.
