The video, which appeared online on Tuesday, showed at least seven abducted men who claimed they were kidnapped in Zamfara State at their place of work.

“My name is Godfrey Adewole. We started this work on Kaduna Road. When we finished there, they transferred us to Taminaka, but the money was not ready. So, they brought us to Zamfara here. I work with Setraco Construction Company,” one of the victims said in Pidgin English in the video.

Journalist Abdulbaqee captioned the video on his X page: "Just In: Armed bandits release video of the hostages abducted in Tsafe LGA, Zamfara state, which occurred and resulted in the deaths of military personnel and the commander of ZSCPG. Most of the hostages are employees of Setraco construction company, a company handling the construction of the federal highway."

Shegzeblog on Tuesday reported that the bandits launched another attack on Tsafe town, where they burnt two operational vehicles of the military and killed two members of the state security outfit, Community Protection Guards (CPG), in the area.

These construction workers were said to have been kidnapped together with others during the attack.
