Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, the widow of the late former Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, publicly criticized her late husband’s niece, Funke Akeredolu Aruna, for showing support to the current governor of Ondo State.

Betty referred to Funke as a "bloody serpent" for backing Akeredolu's successor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, ahead of the upcoming November governorship election in the state.

Betty made her feelings known through her Instagram account on Monday morning, March 4th, sharing a photo of Funke and calling her out for her actions.

Funke, who previously served as deputy chief protocol to Akeredolu, has faced backlash from Betty for her perceived disloyalty.

Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who was formerly Akeredolu’s deputy, assumed the role of governor after Akeredolu's passing in December.

Prior to his death, there was tension between Akeredolu and Aiyedatiwa, leading to attempts to impeach Aiyedatiwa by the State Assembly with Akeredolu's support.
