In a move to address the growing concerns of Nigerian youths, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume, convened an emergency meeting with over 40 ministers in the President's cabinet on Wednesday, July 23.

The meeting, held behind closed doors, aimed to discuss the proposed nationwide protest against economic hardship.

According to sources, the meeting was attended by top government officials, including Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory; Yusuf Tuggar, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Zephaniah Jisalo, Minister of Special Duties; Tahir Mamman, Minister of Education; and Abubakar Bagudu, Minister of Budget and Planning.

Other notable attendees included Wale Edun, Minister of Finance; Mohammed Idris, Minister of Information; Bello Matawalle, Minister of Defence; David Umahi, Minister of Works; and the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu.

"We understand the concerns of the Nigerian youths and are committed to addressing them," said George Akume, SGF. "We will work tirelessly to ensure that their voices are heard and their demands are met."

The meeting comes as Nigerian youths prepare for a nationwide protest against economic hardship, citing high levels of unemployment, poverty, and inequality. The government's response to the protest will be crucial in addressing the grievances of the youths and preventing further unrest.
