A final year student of Criminology at the Federal University Oye Ekiti (FUOYE), Olalekan Oni, known as Asiwaju, has been arrested by the Ekiti State Police Command for allegedly raping a male colleague.

The allegation surfaced through an online video showing Oni being escorted by police officers. The victim’s identity remains undisclosed.

Oni had recently presented his project on “Causes and Youth Involvement in Criminal Activity: A Case Study of Oye Local Government Area.”

Both the National Association of Ondo State Students and the FUOYE Student Union Government clarified that Oni is not affiliated with their organizations. They issued statements emphasizing that he holds no membership or official role within their groups.

The spokesperson of the Ekiti State Police Command, Abutu Sunday, confirmed the arrest and ongoing investigation, stating that Oni has denied the allegations and the police are working to uncover the truth.
