Bandits attacked a market in Tsafe town, Zamfara State, resulting in the death of three individuals.

According to an eyewitness who spoke with Channels TV, the bandits arrived at the market around 11 a.m. on Sunday, April 21, 2024, and began firing at people indiscriminately. The DPO of Tsafe reportedly gathered his officers and locked the police station, preventing people from seeking shelter there. The State Police Command's spokesperson, ASP Yazid Abubakar, confirmed the attack, stating that security forces, including the military and police, have since restored calm to the area after engaging the bandits.

Additionally, residents reported that troops of Operation Hadarin Daji deployed to Tsafe engaged the bandits in a gun battle, causing them to retreat to the forest. In a separate incident, bandits also killed Ameer Zango Shinkafi while he was traveling from Tsafe to Gusau.
