In a statement released in Abuja, the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, announced that the Federal Government has declared Monday, October 2, 2023 as a public holiday to mark Nigeria's 63rd independence anniversary.

The Minister congratulated Nigerians both at home and in the diaspora on the country's Independence Day, and assured them of the government's unwavering commitment to addressing the nation's numerous challenges.

He highlighted that the administration is working hard to resolve the country's problems and would continue to do so until things improve.
