Abubakar Tahiru, a 29-year-old Ghanaian environmental activist and forestry student, has made history by setting a new Guinness World Record for the most trees hugged in one hour.

The Guinness World Record officially recognized Tahiru's achievement on Friday, noting that he not only broke the previous record but also became the inaugural titleholder, surpassing the minimum requirement of 700 trees.

The record-breaking event took place at the Tuskegee National Forest in Alabama, USA, where Tahiru embraced an impressive average of nearly 19 trees per minute.

Raised in a farming community in Tepa, Ghana, Tahiru embarked on this endeavor to raise awareness about environmental conservation. His deep-rooted passion for nature conservation was nurtured by his upbringing in a region abundant with natural beauty.
