On Thursday, the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and his deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, officially opened the Yaba Overpass Bridge.

The Yaba Overpass Bridge is an important infrastructural development in the state that is aimed at easing traffic congestion and improving the flow of traffic in the area.

The new overpass is expected to greatly benefit the local community by reducing travel times and improving access to businesses and services in the area.

Chief Press Secretary to the Lagos State Governor, Gboyega Akosile said, “Governor #jidesanwoolu in the company of his deputy #drobafemihamzat formally commissioned the Yaba overpass bridge.

“The overpass bridge is part of the Red Line project. There are five overpass bridges constructed by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to eliminate the interaction between vehicular traffic and train services.

“Three out of the four remaining Bridges are completed and ready for commissioning in a few weeks. The fourth bridge, which is in Mushin would be ready before the end of the year. The red line services when fully operational would transport more than 1 million passengers everyday.”
