Earlier, the actor had posted a message directed at those concerned, stating that the correct term is "Basmati Rice," not "Bamatic Rice." This statement led many to speculate that he was targeting Angela Okorie, who had previously referred to the rice as "Basmatic rice."

In response, Mofe Duncan criticized bloggers for trying to stir up trouble between him and his friend, clarifying that his statement was not aimed at her. He explained that he was addressing employees of eateries and fast-food joints.

His words: “YOU BLOGGERS JUST LIKE TO START TROUBLE… @REALANGELAOKORIE IS MY GEE AND I WASN’T REFERRING TO HER. I DIDN’T MENTION HER NOR DID I TAG HER… I WAS SPEAKING TO THE STAFF OF FAST FOOD JOINTS AND RESTAURANTS. YOU PEOPLE SHOULD REST IN THE NAME OF THE LORD! Σ 5,422 likes mofeduncan.
