Adeola Aderounmu, late actress Jumoke Aderounmu's brother, confronted Funke Akindele in a live video, addressing his accusations of her abandoning his sister.

After Jumoke's death, Adeola criticized Funke for publicly mourning her while allegedly neglecting her in her final days. He accused Funke of insincerity, claiming Jumoke had tried to reach out to her multiple times, but received no response.

In response, Funke Akindele tearfully defended herself on Instagram Live, recounting her own recent hardships, including the loss of her mother, husband, and political issues. She clarified that she had contacted Jumoke's colleague, Jide Awobona, to inquire about her while she was alive, and was told that Jumoke preferred to be contacted directly for work opportunities. Funke stated that she messaged Adeola after Jumoke's passing but received no reply, and was unaware of Jumoke's illness.

Adeola dismissed Funke's explanation, questioning why she only reached out after Jumoke's death and why she did not have Jumoke's phone number directly. He advised her to stop acting and criticized her behavior towards others.

Additionally, Adeola mentioned receiving messages from the children of another actress from "Jenifa's Diary," alleging similar neglect by Funke Akindele. He shared screenshots as evidence, urging Funke to treat her staff better.

He wrote:

You reached out when person don kpai and you expect me to reply? Are you saying you don’t have Jumoke’s number? So na Jide dey help you dey call am before? Cause you dey act give us for Live video now. Na actress you be ma, you no fit dey whine us? His change towards people around you do better”
