The Nigerian Armed Forces have announced that troops have killed 31 terrorists and arrested 81 others in the past week, in military operations across the North East, North Central and North West regions of the country.

In addition to the arrests and killings, 10 kidnapped hostages have been rescued, and a total of 63 Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists and their families have surrendered to the troops.

These operations are part of the ongoing efforts by the Nigerian military to stamp out terrorism and banditry in the country.

In the North East, troops of Operation HADIN KAI conducted fighting patrols in Bama and Chibok local government areas of Borno State and Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State.

During the operations, the troops recovered 12 AK47 rifles, two locally fabricated rifles, three Dane guns, 181 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, four magazines, three motorcycles and other items.

They also neutralised 13 terrorists and arrested 12 others, as well as rescued five kidnapped persons.
