High court in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, has ruled that Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege III, the newly installed Soun of Ogbomoso, must vacate the throne due to the illegality of the selection process.

The court had previously reserved judgment in a lawsuit challenging Oba Olaoye's selection until October 25.

The Oyo State Government had appointed Olaoye as the new Soun of Ogbomoso on September 8, 2023.
